Cesca Douthwaite L4 JD
In ICP Cesca explored a huge variety of processes resulting in samples which begin to look at layering and how materials can be combined in ways that allow you to look and discover. It will be exciting to see how she develops this over the next module.
Christian Jones - L4 AB
For this module Christian has further developed and built upon ideas touched on in the previous module. We have come to expect very fluid forms from Christian and this work does not disappoint! Derived from knots in split timber through to the weave and layering of fibres in wool, he has created a body of work which begins to explore some of these visual qualities.
Will Shepherd - L4 AB
For this module Will has focused his visual investigations on a variety of natural forms, specifically seed heads and plant stems. This has led him to produce a range of forged samples which are poised, elegant, and rhythmic in the way they interact with each other. It will be interesting to see how he develops this over the coming weeks.
Matt Day - L4 CAA
In ICP Matt developed a wide range of visual explorations derived from investigations into fluid and organic shapes. Using a series of design development tools Matt has created
Ideas which play with pattern, form and scale.

Robin's jewellery bench!
It makes me chuckle when I see Robin's desk on Fridays, there is always an addition of a new piece, doll or a discarded toy ready to be given new life! I can imagine that this desk causes quite a stir to people who aren't quite sure what is destined for these modified toys!!

Level 6 group crits
Today has been packed full of groups of students moving between spaces and doing what we do best, discussing their practice.
We have recently commence the final module, the one that will end in a degree show, so the pressure is really on for these guys.
It was fab to see such development so early on, we had almost complete ants, dolls, jewellery and other interesting objects ready to discuss today. We went round in groups of 6-8 people which worked really well as everyone gave advice and shared their experiences and each person took turns writing the tutorial form.
I really look forward to what will be on show for the next tutorial!
