More formatives!

Well Friday it is again, we accepted another student onto the blacksmithing degree and had another formative assessment!

Today we a mix of all courses again and there was a lot to see and talk about. I managed at last to get a photo of Katie ( without her knowing of course!) and some of our other students as they discuss their work.

Rob has been designing and making some really exciting movable rings. He is a drummer and some of his pieces really do resemble tiny little drum kits!

Thursday Forge day!

So, following in our routine of Folly Friday, Del and I also get to the Forge on Thursday afternoons to see our Blacksmiths in action. We had a great afternoon, we caught up with some students we see all the time, and those who are a bit more elusive!

Katie really doesn't like having her picture taken even though she really did look the part today!! Matt was showing Del some of his samples for door handles and Jon was getting down to making his guitar stand!

We caught up with the Big man at the Forge, that would be Adtian, and generally made sure everyone was on track.

So here are some snaps of our afternoon. Tomorrow we have more formative assessments and then off to Folly in the afternoon for some workshop catch up!

Formative Assessments

Its that time again, third years are being Formatively assessed on their new module, progress has been very good so far and there have been sone very brave and innovative decisions made!

Here are some pics from yesterday and this morning. We had mixed groups from across the crafts cluster, this allows everyone to see what practice looks like in other materials.
