Busy first years !!

For the first years this week started with a trip to the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford and then they've had a week full of process workshops there's been glass fusing and slumping / mould making and slip casting / small scale forging / introduction to print in textiles and the first perspex workshop is today ....( there's only 10 students in each of these process workshops which are organised in rotation so everyone will do them in the next few weeks ) alongside these they've been drawing and designing and of course the Blacksmiths have been in the forge . Oh ... I almost forgot they have also had a Discourse session with visiting lecturer Amy Tigger Holroyd !!

During the next few weeks they'll also be process workshops in mono printing / tig and mig welding / graphic etching / structural stitch / resin aluminium and more .... All aiming to expand students knowledge and awareness of all the possibilities that are available to them as makers ...its great to have committed Technical Demonstrators in each workshop to make this possible ...

So thank you Richard , Bronwen , Steve , Greg , Ian , Roger , Karen and Elly
