Ukraine Post 3 - The long drive !!

We left Kiev at 9.00 am and arrived at 8.00 pm ... It was a mighty journey with bumpy roads or cobbles the whole way ... Every house had a strip of land to grow their vegetables many had their own cow or a flock of geese each with a little old lady or small child to herd them through the fence less strips of grass .. We did not really stop anywhere except for drinks or snacks and Ambrose and I took it in terns to drive . I did insist on a stop to photograph a crane in its nest , there where cranes nesting at the top of telegraph poles in nearly every village we drove past . It was like national potatoe planting day with families planting potatoes everywhere we drove through and if they weren't planting potatoes they were ploughing their patch with horses ... It was like going back in time ...

Sadly not many photos but I did discover Ambrose loves pylons and big Russian trucks!
